Chief Mark Stiefer said the department has expanded beyond fire response to handle car crashes, searches and medical emergencies as community needs have grown.

Assistant Chief Thomas Trent said the new ambulances will expand the department’s response capabilities and provide additional EMS support for the community.

“It feels pretty good, you know, to know that we can do more for our community. We can be there in their time of need,” Stiefer said. “You know that the biggest thing is the more we can do, the more we can offer our community, the better our community is, the safer it is.”
