Mike Taigman, MA, FAEMS
A former paramedic, Mike Taigman has authored more than 600 articles in professional journals and worked with emergency services and healthcare organizations in 49 of the 50 states, most of the Canadian Provinces, Israel, Palestine, Australia and throughout Europe. Mike serves as Improvement Guide for FirstWatch. He teaches improvement science as an assistant professor in the University of California San Francisco’s MS in Healthcare Administration and Interprofessional Leadership, and as an adjunct professor in UMBC’s MA in Emergency Health Services Management.
Chris Carlson, PhD, MBA, EFO
As a former paramedic, firefighter and fire chief, our clients benefit from Chris Carlson’s past experiences in roles that many of our clients hold today — he can help identify what to measure and how to measure it to provide greater efficiencies and safety to communities, first responders and public health officials. In addition to his field experience, Chris has held a variety of leadership roles including serving as a board member of the League of California Cities and California Fire Chiefs Association, chief operations officer at Transcare, and vice president of Xerox Corporation. Chris holds both an MBA and bachelor’s degree from the University of Redlands, and an Executive Fire Officer Certification from the National Fire Academy. He has significant entrepreneurial and venture capital experience, working in a leadership role with two different financial services firms. Chris is currently the senior product manager at FirstWatch.
Daniel Brown
Daniel Brown brings over 30 years of EMS and data experience to his role as product solutions owner at FirstWatch. He began his career in the field, serving in various roles including volunteer firefighter/EMT, pay-per-call EMT, and dispatcher. His passion for data led him to serve as EMS data specialist at his local EMS agency for over 12 years. At FirstWatch, Daniel now specializes in developing customized reports and data solutions that help public safety agencies turn information into actionable insight.
