Fitch & Associates highlights EMS, 911 leadership milestones

The Spring 2026 Ambulance Service Manager class graduated 41 EMS and public safety professionals, while a 911 workforce study earned international recognition

PLATTE CITY, Mo. — Fitch & Associates announced recent achievements across two leadership development programs for EMS and emergency communications professionals.

Forty-one EMS and public safety professionals completed the Spring 2026 Ambulance Service Manager program. The blended-learning course included online instruction and two separate weeks of classroom training in San Antonio focused on developing leadership skills for EMS managers.

Participants received instruction from EMS industry leaders, including Brenda Staffan, Anthony Minge, Hannah Fitch, Todd Stout and Kevin Preston.

Montorony “Monty” Jenkins, deputy chief of EMS at Berkeley County EMS in South Carolina, received the Spring 2026 ASM leadership award, which is selected by classmates. Alberta “Berta” Broomhall was recognized as runner-up.

Deputy Chief Montorony “Monty” Jenkins, BA, NRP

Two ASM capstone projects were selected for presentation at the 2026 Pinnacle EMS Leadership Conference in San Diego: “Building Leaders Before the Badge” and “Recognition Without Stability: Advocacy Engagement, Essential Service Designation, and Funding Barriers in U.S. Emergency Medical Services.”

Fitch & Associates also announced that a project group from its Communication Center Manager course received the Research Poster of the Year from the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch at the 2026 Navigator Conference.

The winning capstone project, “Behind the Frontlines: Addressing Mental Health and Staff Retention in the 911 Workforce,” was completed by Jacob Bevans, Mary Bowman, Raylon Bryant, Mark Buck, Royanne Hammond, Jason Roeller and Katherine Wolf. Bevans accepted the award on behalf of the team, which graduated from the CCM program in December 2025.

The CCM program provides management and leadership training for communication center leaders and is recognized by the National Emergency Number Association for credit toward Emergency Number Professional recertification.
