PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. — Prince George’s County Fire and EMS has given a fire truck a makeover to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The department unveiled a special pink pumper on Friday, and it made the rounds over the weekend from the University of Maryland to FedEx field for the Redskins game.
The fire department is also selling T-shirts that say “We care enough to wear pink,” with the proceeds going cancer research, according to WTOP.com.
“Having this beautiful piece of fire apparatus wrapped in pink to help raise awareness for breast cancer was a labor of love,” said department spokesman Mark Brady.
“When it’s not out doing breast cancer awareness events, it’s going to be on duty and respond to fires and emergency medical calls.”
