DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. — Douglas County firefighters are raising more concerns over the condition of their ambulances.
“They’re falling apart,” one firefighter who didn’t want to be identified told CBS46. Many ambulances are racking well over 150,000 miles. Firefighters also claim emergency vehicles aren’t getting proper maintenance.
They point to cases in which maintenance workers used glue and zip-ties to hold up headlights onto an ambulance. On Tuesday, five of the county’s 11 ambulances were out of order, several of them for ongoing issues with air conditioning.
