A new documentary from AJPlus explores the challenges faced by EMS services and hospitals in rural America.
The video presents reporting on funding and the fact that in many areas, EMS is not considered an essential service in the same way that fire and police departments are, and so EMS services don’t receive the same funding.
The documentary describes other issues such as the dangers paramedics and EMTs face, response times and lengthening travel times to hospitals.
