Jacob Howser’s death came just before his fire company’s fundraiser Saturday

POCOMOKE CITY, Md. — A volunteer firefighter-EMT died after his vehicle crashed Saturday morning.

Pocomoke City Volunteer Fire Company reported the death of 23-year-old Jacob Howser via Facebook.

“Jacob’s passing represents the loss of a dedicated volunteer and public safety servant for not only our town but southern Worcester County. Our dear brother; you will be missed,” the post read.

Howser’s death came just before the fire company’s afternoon fundraiser, which paid tribute to Howser.

“It was a trying day for all of us because of what happened,” PIO Jerry Barbierri told Delmarvanow.com. “It was very much tempered by what went on with Jacob.
