NEW ORLEANS — EMS1’s Rob Lawrence catches up with Dr. Peter Antevy at EMS World Expo to discuss crucial protocol changes and debunking unsound research in EMS.

Dr. Antevy shares takeaways from his Expo presentation, “Taking back EMS: Embracing five important protocol changes and debunking unfounded research.”

“EMS is a different specialty,” Dr. Antevy notes. “You know that the data coming out from the AHA is mainly hospital-side, ICU-side data and it’s time that we own this space.”

Watch as Dr. Antevy discusses protocol changes related to:

  • RSI versus DSI
  • Refractory status epilepticus
  • Whole blood
  • Double sequential defibrillation
  • Antibiotics for sepsis
  • And a bonus: Removing epi from shockable rhythms
