XINING, China — Video shows a firefighter rescue a distraught man holding a toddler, threatening to jump from his window.
Firefighters were called to the scene in Northeastern China after witnesses called about a man sitting on the window sill of his sixth-floor apartment, cradling a child.
As the man grew more emotional and looked ready to jump, firefighters inflated a cushion below, while one firefighter scaled the building, stopping above the man’s window.
When the man grew more upset, the firefighter quickly lowered himself and swung and kicked the man back into the apartment where other firefighters burst in to make sure the child was safe.
Reports say the man threatened to kill himself and the child after having a family dispute.
