RUSH COUNTY, Kan. — Western Cooperative Electric and the Golden Belt Community Foundation have awarded Rush County EMS $3,750 in grant funding to purchase emergency medical equipment.
The funding includes a $2,750 Sharing Success Grant from Western Cooperative Electric and $1,000 from the foundation, the Great Bend Post reported. Rush County EMS will use the money to maintain and improve equipment used to provide emergency medical services across Rush County.

“Supporting organizations like Rush County EMS is about more than providing a grant,” Western Cooperative Electric Member Services Manager Christina Hayes said. “These are the people who show up when our communities need help the most. We are proud to invest in the equipment that helps them do their jobs safely and effectively, and we are especially pleased that we were able to partner with the Golden Belt Community Foundation to make this award go even further.”
Western Cooperative Electric’s Sharing Success Grant program supports organizations and projects that benefit communities served by the cooperative.
The cooperative and Golden Belt Community Foundation said the grant will support Rush County EMS and its emergency medical services for local residents.
