Paramedic, EMT injured in ambulance crash

A truck driver accidentally rear-ended the ambulance, causing it to overturn

LEE COUNTY, Fla. — A paramedic and EMT were injured after a truck crashed into their ambulance in Fla.

There were no patients on board during the Monday collision, according to the News-Press.

The ambulance was driving to a call with its siren and emergency lights on when a truck struck the vehicle, rolling it over onto its side.

Alain Charlot, 32, was charged with violation of right of way to an emergency vehicle. He also suffered minor injuries.

Jeffrey Kerr, 51, was driving the ambulance and sustained minor injuries. He and the accompanying medic were both transported to the hospital after the incident.

The Florida Highway Patrol said that Charlot didn’t brake early enough and didn’t have enough distance to avoid hitting the ambulance.
