Boston EMS welcomed 26 new EMTs and promoted eight members at Faneuil Hall, marking the next chapter for recruits who completed six months of training and answered more than 3,000 911 calls.

BOSTON — Boston EMS graduated 26 new EMTs and promoted eight department members during a ceremony at Faneuil Hall.

The new EMTs are joining the department after completing six months of academy training and responding to more than 3,000 9-1-1 calls in the field, according to the department.

Boston EMS also recognized eight promotions, including two members promoted to lieutenant and six advanced to paramedic.

Department officials said the promotions reflect strong leadership, clinical skill and continued service to the city.
