BALTIMORE — Maryland State Police Aviation Command crews completed more than 30 missions over the July Fourth weekend, including medevacs, search-and-rescue calls, law enforcement support and hoist rescues.

Operating 24/7 from seven bases, the command uses 10 helicopters and two airplanes to provide emergency medical transport, disaster response and other critical services across the state at no direct cost to patients.
