FORT SMITH, Ark. — Paramedics distributed coats and scarves in their community for neighbors in need as cold winter weather arrives.
Paramedics Carrie Escalante and Trish Webster of Fort Smith EMS tied jackets, caps and scarves on light poles, parking meters and trees in the downtown area.
“This is just another way in which our paramedics give back and show their love for our citizens,” said Tim W. Hearn, executive director of Fort Smith EMS.
The medics and other community volunteers purchased the cold-weather apparel with their own funds and distributed the items on the main street leading into Fort Smith.
“Our paramedics are so kind and giving,” Hearn said.
