Woman allegedly fakes pregnancy to get ambulance ride

Police said the woman called 911 and claimed she was having pregnancy complications, but walked out of the ER after being transported

GREENSBURG, Pa. — A woman faces charges after allegedly faking a pregnancy to get an ambulance ride to her hometown.

Associated Press reported that the 25-year-old woman called 911 and said she was suffering complications due to her pregnancy and needed an ambulance transport.

The ambulance transported the woman and her male companion 10 miles away to a Greensburg hospital, but she walked out of the hospital before she could be examined.

First responders had the woman’s name and address, and they found her hiding in an apartment attic.

The woman was charged with theft of services, which is punishable by an $800 fine.
