How EMS is recognizing Sept. 11, 2020

While many events have moved to the virtual realm, COVID-19 has not stopped EMS from commemorating 9/11

In the days and weeks that followed Sept. 11, 2001, Americans experienced a sense of togetherness and community, pledging to “never forget” the bravery and sacrifice of the 412 firefighters, EMTs, paramedics and police officers who never made it home to their families.

Though social distancing efforts have moved some events, like stair climbs and memorial ceremonies to virtual gatherings, many fire and EMS organizations, agencies and members are taking a moment to remember the sacrifices made 19 years ago, and to honor the commitment of our nation’s first responders.
