DETROIT — The National Registry Board of Directors has proposed updates to its Accepted Education & Documentation Policy.

The changes are intended to clarify continuing education (CE) requirements and create more consistency for recertification, reentry and state-licensed entry certification pathways, National Registry said in a press release.

The proposed updates would define which applications the policy covers, clarify when continuing education must be completed, expand acceptable education to include state-mandated CE and clinician safety courses, and specify which education does not count toward NCCP components.

The policy outlines eligibility requirements, timelines, documentation standards and approved sources of continuing education for individuals seeking National Registry certification or recertification.

The National Registry is accepting public comments on the proposed policy updates through July 13, 2026, as part of a 60-day stakeholder feedback period.
