MADISON, Wis. — An unconscious woman who had overdosed on heroin behind the wheel of a car was resuscitated by paramedics after they administered Narcan.

The unidentified woman was revived in the back of a fire department ambulance, according to The Cap Times, and said she was fine.

“A paramedic told her she was not fine, she almost died, and would have died had Narcan not been administered,” a police spokesman said in a press release. “She understood and said ‘thank you.’”

The woman was found unconscious and is facing tentative charges of drug possession, operating a vehicle under the influence and a probation violation.
