Mich. responders save unborn baby after mom dies

Police and firefighters continued chest compressions on the woman until an emergency c-section could be performed in the operating room

ECORSE, Mich. — The Ecorse Police and Fire Departments responded to a 911 call on Tuesday morning and managed to save a baby’s life.

“My mom is pregnant, she’s in the bathtub and she’s not breathing,” said a young girl’s voice on the 911 recording.

The call came from an Ecorse home off First St. around 9:00 on Tuesday morning. Corporal Timothy Sassak was the first one to arrive on scene.
