Ambulance shot at in St. Louis

The EMS crew reported hearing gunshots and later discovered ballistic damage to the ambulance they were in

ST. LOUIS — An EMS crew contacted police to report hearing gunshots, then later discovered ballistic damage to their ambulance.

Crews heard the shots around 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, and no victims or suspects were located, 19 Action News reports.

Wednesday morning, the crew found bullet holes in the ambulance they were in at the time.

“We’ve had cars hit. We’ve had trucks, we’ve had ambulances hit before,” said Chief Dennis Jenkerson. “I would hope no one would target an ambulance [that] is there to help and hopefully correct the situation.”

The damaged ambulance is still in service.
