D.C. emergency vehicles taken out of service after Ebola scare

An ambulance and fire engine were cleaned and put back into service after an ill woman who had traveled to Africa tested negative for the virus

WASHINGTON D.C. — A D.C. fire engine and ambulance were temporarily taken out of service this weekend in response to an Ebola scare.

Crews responded to a 911 call on Saturday of an ill woman who had recently traveled to Africa, ABC 7 News reports.

She was taken to George Washington University Hospital, and health officials determined that she was not infected with the virus.

Engine 13 and Medic Ambulance 19 were cleaned and later put back into service after the woman tested negative.
