Inside EMS Podcast: Community paramedicine, helmet cam usage in EMS
Chris Cebollero and Kelly Grayson bring expert perspective to hot topics, clinical issues, operational and leadership lessons to EMS personnel and leaders to be safe and successful
In this week's Inside EMS podcast, hosts Chris Cebollero and Kelly Grayson discuss why community paramedicine is the future of EMS and also explain the level of education paramedics and EMTs need in order to practice these skills.
"Fire departments have been a little slow to get on to the community paramedic bandwagon," Chris said. "Community paramedicine is the future of our business. We are going to be more of a community health entity rather than being more than an emergency medical response agency."
Chris and Kelly talk about mobile integrated healthcare in their clinical issue segment. They argue on if this is the future of EMS — from training, to reimbursement to infringing on our Home Health partners.
They also interview Ray Kemp, EMS1 executive video producer, on the use of helmet cams and how can we stop bystanders from filming us when we are treating patients in the public.
