1 dead, 1 seriously injured in crash with Ohio ambulance

A two-vehicle collision involved a West Chester Township ambulance returning from a hospital transport

WEST CHESTER TOWNSHIP, Ohio — One person died and another was hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash in West Chester Township.

The crash happened around 5:40 p.m. in the 8500 block of Beckett Road near Beckett Park on Jan. 6, according to township spokesperson Brianna Wooten. West Chester Township traffic safety units responded to the scene, the Journal-News reported.

Wooten said the collision involved a West Chester Township ambulance that was returning from transporting a patient to the hospital and a sedan, which overturned onto its roof.

The sedan’s two occupants had sustained serious injuries and were treated at the scene before being transported to UC Health West Chester Hospital. Wooten later confirmed one person had died.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
