OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — Firefighters and EMS providers responded Thursday as powerful storms moved through the central U.S., spawning tornadoes and killing at least three people. Thousands were left without power.
Two people died in Cole, Oklahoma, CBS News reported. A third person in the state who was injured by the tornado has died, authorities said.
Cole resident Larry Paul said that a relative of his who is a volunteer firefighter activated the tornado sirens for the area.
In Texas, Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services reported that it was conducting multiple water rescues Thursday night.
