DAYTON, Ohio — A firefighter died March 21 as a result of contracting hepatitis while on the job.
Firefighter Close Calls reported that firefighter Rick Halcomb, with the Dayton Fire Department, medically retired after nine years with the department.
Firefighter Halcomb contracted hepatitis on the job after his ambulance was involved in an accident while he treated an infected patient, according to the report.
