SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Professional Firefighters Association has filed a complaint with the state, alleging the San Antonio Fire Department has not adequately prepared first responders to handle cases of Ebola virus.
The firefighters association addressed a long list of complaints and concerns, but the most significant among them is the claim that EMTs don’t have the proper equipment to protect themselves from getting Ebola or spreading it to others.
Association President Chris Steele announced Tuesday that the alleged lack of preparedness is the subject of a complaint filed to the Texas Department of State Health Services.
