WASHINGTON — A 5-year-old boy battling leukemia has already proven he’s a fighter, but he’s getting by with a little help from his firefighter friends to make his dreams come true.

Fox5DC.com reported that Kaheem’s wish to be a superhero was granted with help from “The Superhero Council” and Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic. “Super Kaheem” started out his dream-come-true day on a Montgomery County fire truck that transported him to FOX 5’s station.

He was then taken to National Harbor, Md., by a Prince George’s County Fire and EMS fire truck, where Santa was stuck on the Ferris wheel and needed Kaheem to rescue him.

From there, he hopped on a D.C. fire and EMS boat to cross the river for his next mission: where he received a special message from Paul Ryan, speaker of the house, at the U.S. Capitol. He also captured the Grinch and stopped him from stealing presents at the National Theater.

Officials thanked the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services, Prince George’s County Fire and EMS, D.C. Fire and EMS, United States Capitol Police and the Metropolitan Police Department for helping make Kaheem’s dreams come true.
