LAS VEGAS — North Las Vegas authorities say a patient being taken to the hospital has died after the ambulance she was riding in got in a crash.

Officials say two North Las Vegas firefighters riding in the ambulance were hurt in the crash about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, but pulled the patient out of the vehicle and kept working on her in spite of their injuries.

Fire officials say the ambulance was traveling southbound on Decatur Boulevard when it collided with a pickup truck at the intersection of Craig Road and tipped on its side.

It’s not clear which vehicle hit the other.

Two employees of the MedicWest ambulance company were taken to the hospital in stable condition, while the driver of the pickup was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
