Philly ambulance catches fire

Medics called in the fire themselves when they noticed flames in the rear of the vehicle while returning to the station

PHILADELPHIA — Medics heading from Jefferson Hospital back to the station realized the rear of the ambulance they were driving was on fire.

They called in the blaze themselves, and crews responded to put out the flames, CBSPhilly reports.

The incident occurred around 1:45 a.m. Friday at 3rd and Market Streets. There was no patient inside, and no reports of injuries.
