LOUISVILLE, Ky. — An ambulance and SUV collided Monday afternoon, leaving one person dead and six others injured.

Officials said the Louisville Metro EMS ambulance was transporting a patient with lights and sirens while it was driving through a red light at an intersection. The ambulance collided with an SUV, which struck two other vehicles, reported WAVE.

Three EMS employees were transported to the hospital for minor injuries. The patient in the ambulance was not further injured. A driver of one of the vehicles that was struck was taken to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities are still investigating the crash.
