WENTZVILLE, Mo. — A 3-year-old girl had the opportunity to thank the dispatcher who provided aid to her after losing her foot in a mowing incident.
Vada Miller lost most of her right foot in a mowing incident Aug. 17. Dispatcher Dasha Fox had just begun her shift when she received the 911 call. Fox kept Vada’s parents and neighbors calm while waiting for responders to arrive.
“Picked up the phone and the caller told me we had a girl that had her foot cut off by the lawn mower,” Fox told KSDK. “It’s just one of those things where at first you stop and say, ‘Did I just hear what I heard?’”
Vada paid Fox a visit Thursday at the call center to meet and thank her for her guidance during the incident.
“It’s not just me. It’s everybody. It’s my shift. It’s the first responders, the medics, and the firefighters all the way to the doctors and specialists,” Fox said. “We all work together for positive outcomes.”
Fox also gave Vada an Elsa costume from the movie “Frozen.”
