ROSENDALE, N.Y. — Three people were hospitalized after a dump truck lost control on state Route 213, overturned and landed on a vehicle, according to police.
The Rosendale Police Department said in a Facebook post that at approximately 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, a loaded tri-axle dump traveling on state Route 213 near Binnewater Road lost control and overturned onto a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction, resulting in a serious crash.

Police said rescue crews needed to remove three occupants from the car. One patient was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla and the other two patients were taken by ambulance to HealthAlliance Hospital in Kingston. Authorities did not immediately offer further details about their conditions.
Police added that Route 213 and surrounding roadways in the vicinity of the crash were closed throughout Tuesday evening to allow emergency crews to operate. Police expected the road to reopen by 9:30 p.m.
Police said the crash remains under investigation.
