GOOSE CREEK, S.C. — The City of Goose Creek Fire Department has announced that the department has added a new tool for pain management in EMS with the addition of Pro-Nox kits.
The department stated that the kits will be placed on all front-line fire apparatus and EMS units as part of their process of improving their standard of care and providing additional pain management alternatives.
According to the manufacturer, Pro-Nox is an FDA-cleared analgesia that delivers 50% nitrous oxide and 50% oxygen, comparable to laughing gas as it relieves treatment pain, stress, anxiety, and overall discomfort by safely inducing a more relaxed and euphoric state of being.
