Wis. EMS mourns death of young paramedic

WAUNAKEE, Wis. — Waunakee Area EMS is mourning the death of paramedic Daria Deibele, remembered for her upbeat spirit and clinical skill.

Deibele joined the agency in 2022 as a volunteer EMT-Basic, attended paramedic school and moved into a full-time position in early 2024, WKOW reported. She was also a member of Whitewater Fire and EMS.

In a Facebook post, Waunakee Area EMS said Deibele was “a bright and joyful presence” in the agency.

The department said her laughter and dedication to patient care made a lasting impression on coworkers and the communities she served.

The department did not release her cause of death out of respect for her family.
