NEW YORK — A woman engulfed in flames jumped off a roof and died Tuesday night in Brooklyn, police sources and the FDNY said.

Firefighters rushed to the scene around 7:43 p.m. near Colin Place and E. 2nd St. in Gravesend. The fire victim, who was not immediately identified, was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS after jumping from a six-story building, officials said.

“It’s a woman and we are still trying to get her identity,” a police source told the Daily News. “She came off the roof. She set herself on fire and jumped.”

First responders found the person at the rear of the building.

“There’s gas and lighters all over the roof,” the source added.

The Medical Examiner is investigating the cause of death.

One neighbor told The News the victim “lived with her partner and her partner left her.”

“It was all flames and then a big thump,” another witness said of the disturbing incident.
