LODD: Md. EMS provider dies on duty

Wayne Fisher worked for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Foundation since 2013

BEL AIR, Md. — The Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Foundation has announced that one of its employees, Wayne Fisher, died unexpectedly on duty Sunday.

Fisher joined the foundation in 2013 and was assigned to Darlington Volunteer Fire Company's C Shift as an EMS provider.

"We extend our thoughts and prayers to the Fisher family and to our fire and EMS family during this difficult time," the foundation said in a Facebook post on Monday evening. "If you or someone you know is struggling during these unrelenting times, please reach out and we will connect you with our resources."

More information will be released as it becomes available, the foundation said.

The Darlington Volunteer Fire Company also posted a tribute to Fisher on its Facebook page: "Thank you for your service Wayne. You are missed."
