REDDING, Conn. — If a paramedic is needed to assist a Redding resident, one is available 24/7 through the town’s regional paramedic intercept program.

Beginning this month, Danbury Healthcare Systems will be providing this regional program to Redding and Bethel. The decision to hire the firm was made in conjunction with the Redding Paramedic Alliance, which includes representatives of each of the town’s volunteer fire departments.

“We made the decision to use this program because it is in the best interest of the health and safety of our residents,” said First Selectman Natalie Ketcham last week.
