SPARTA, Tenn. — An off-duty White County and Warren County paramedic, injured last week in a two-vehicle crash, is back to work. Nathan Whiteaker said he is humbled by claims that he’s a hero.
The 31-year-old returned to work with a slight limp and some soreness.
“I don’t think I done anything that any other provider in the state of Tennessee wouldn’t have done as well,” said Whiteaker. “I think Tennessee’s blessed to have some great EMS people in all positions: paramedics, EMTs, first responders. I think any of them would’ve done the same thing I did.”
