MESA, Ariz. — A quick-thinking Arizona 9-year-old is being hailed as a hero after averting a freeway crash — and perhaps saving several lives.
Kadie Christy was in the front seat of a truck that her uncle was driving when he began having seizures and lost control of the wheel — while barreling down U.S. 60 in the Mesa area.
Speaking to a local Fox station, Kadie described what happened next: “I just got the steering wheel because I knew that’s what I had to do, or we would get in a crash.”
