SAN ANTONIO — Three San Antonio Fire Department paramedics were suspended after an internal investigation revealed a powerful sedative was misused on patients in three separate incidents.
The incidents took place from May 2013 to November 2013, according to SAFD suspension paperwork released to the I-Team.
In all three cases, a paramedic administered the drug Versed without contacting the on-call medical director. Two patients, both of whom already had serious health problems, died two days after receiving the drug.
