Patient charged after attacking 2 N.Y. EMTs inside ambulance

Both AMR EMTs were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A man accused of attacking and injuring two AMR Rochester EMTs during a call has been arrested and charged, police said.

Investigators said officers responded to Ormond Street on March 28 to assist the EMS crew and found that two EMTs had been injured, WROC reported.

Police said the injuries occurred after 30-year-old Mirsad Kahric, who was being treated inside an ambulance, allegedly attacked the two EMTs without provocation.

Both EMTs were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Kahric has been charged with second-degree assault, second-degree robbery, second-degree grand larceny and resisting arrest. He remains in custody at the Monroe County Jail.
