GLENVIEW, Ill. The Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS) is releasing the Ground Vehicle Standard (GVS) V2.0, which updates the first version and includes safety, quality and compliance requirements for new ambulances currently in production.

The newest version provides vehicle certification labeling systems and templates for compliance, as well as weight and payload information that can be used by the Final Stage Ambulance Manufacturer (FSAM). It also includes a Remount Standard, providing those who are remounting vehicles internally with the minimum requirements needed for the production process and quality control.
