Fla. ambulance crew involved in fatal, 3-vehicle crash

One person died after a Polk County Fire Rescue ambulance collided with a vehicle while responding to a call

POLK COUNTY, Fla. — A Polk County Fire Rescue ambulance responding to a call was involved in a multi-vehicle crash on Oct. 7 in Winter Haven, leaving one person dead.

Photos released by the department show the ambulance collided with a red Chevrolet. Additional crews found one driver dead at the scene, while the driver of a third vehicle was uninjured, WTSP reported.

The two members in the ambulance were taken to a hospital and later released.
