SANDY SPRINGS, S.C. — The Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS) announces that Founder and Executive Director Eileen Frazer, RN, CEN, will retire on Jan. 1, 2025. Frazer has devoted 35 years to creating and developing CAMTS since its inception.

In 1998, Frazer wrote a feasibility study that led to the development of CAMTS and was hired as the Executive Director by the initial Board of Directors consisting of six original professional organization members (AAMS, ACEP, NAACS, NAEMSP, NEMSPA and NFNA). She has served as executive director continuously since that time, CAMTS stated in a press release.

The Board considered many highly qualified external candidates and hired Jan Eichel, MBA, RN, CFRN, FAASTN, to assume the role of executive director. Eichel served in the role of Associate Executive Director-Clinical since 2017.

Eichel served as a site surveyor while she was employed as chief flight nurse at West Michigan Air Care for many years and is knowledgeable of the processes and procedures of CAMTS.

Frazer will work closely with Eichel and the Board to ensure a seamless transition in 2025.
