Mich. woman thanks dispatcher, responders who saved her life

She gave a special thanks to a dispatcher who instructed her husband over the phone how to perform chest compressions when she went into cardiac arrest

YPSILANTI, Mich. — Clinically dead for minutes after suffering a full cardiac arrest, Ypsilanti resident Karen Grams is alive today because of the efforts of her husband and the emergency responders who came to her aid.

She and her husband, Robert Grams, paid a visit to Huron Valley Ambulance’s headquarters and dispatch center Sept. 17 to meet some of these responders, including EMT dispatcher Tim Wilson - who relayed vital instructions while paramedics were on the way.

“How do you thank people who saved your life? It’s incredible,” she said.
