CHICAGO — A 4-year-old girl is being credited with helping save her mother’s life after calling 911.

Aria Koval’s mother, Sue, suffered an asthma attack and was barely able to breathe. Aria’s father, Robert, said he always told her that if something happens, she needed to call 911.

Koval said she was having trouble breathing all day Friday and the last thing she remembered was calling her husband.

“They told me she called 911 and she opened the door for them,” Koval told ABC7. “I was just in shock. I didn’t think she was capable of doing that all by herself. She’s my hero.”

Officers who arrived at the scene said they were amazed Aria was able to call 911. “We’re convinced that if she didn’t do that, we don’t know what would’ve happened to her mother,” officer Anne Belluomini said.
