This week’s Photo of the Week shows the opening of a new EMS station in New Castle County, Del., which was attended by the station’s namesake, retired EMS Lt. John B. Potter. Potter first joined the service as an EMT in 1968 and went on to become the state’s first-ever paramedic in 1973.
The new station includes 2,500 square feet of renovated office space, a decontamination area, a fitness room, laundry facilities, locker rooms, a kitchen and a meeting area, according to New Castle County Paramedics. It also includes a 3,000 square foot vehicle bay that will house two vehicles.
