CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon has ordered flags to be flown at half-staff on Friday in honor of Wamsutter Ambulance Service Paramedic Michael Wilder, who died in the line of duty on Jan. 11.
United States and Wyoming flags will be lowered across the state, from sunrise to sunset, on Jan. 24, according to Sweetwater Now.
A memorial service for Wilder, who died from a cardiac arrest while responding to a fatal crash, will be held Saturday afternoon at a local high school, the Town of Wamsutter said in a statement on Facebook.
According to a news release from the town, a scholarship is being established in Wilder’s memory for students in the Paramedic Technology program at Casper College.
