NEW YORK — Firefighters conducted a water rescue in the East River right near Gracie Mansion Thursday night.
A homemade raft deflated and its occupant went into the water at 86th Street and the FDR Drive, the FDNY said.
A rescue swimmer from a fireboat pulled the man from the frigid water. Medics brought him to NewYork Hospital to be treated for hypothermia and undergo a mental evaluation.
