Ambulances transport 10 children with non-life threatening injuries to hospitals

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Two school buses collided on a Rochester, New York, street, and the accident has left one person dead and several children injured.

The Democrat and Chronicle of Rochester reports that Rural/Metro Medical Services says one person has died and its ambulances have transported several others to local hospitals after the two buses collided around 7 a.m. Tuesday.

The newspaper reports that one of the bus drivers died and 10 city elementary school students have been taken to hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Photos on the newspaper’s website show the front end of a small school bus crumpled against at tree, with a larger bus parked nearby.

Police and emergency crews remain at the scene.

While it was snowing in Rochester, streets appeared to have been clear at the time of the crash.

No other information has been released.
